Thanks to the donors, the pediatric ophthalmology department of the Hospital (NCSH) "OHMATDYT" has been equipped with new medical devices: a portable refractometer, the Adaptica 2WIN vision analyzer, and two sets of ophthalmological trial lenses C-266PLM, as well as trial frames TF-11, with a total value of 320,832.00 hryvnias.
When it comes to pediatric ophthalmology, children typically require this type of medical assistance practically from birth. One of the devices used in diagnosing visual impairments from as early as two months of age is the pediatric refractometer 2WIN. It is often referred to differently, such as a vision analyzer or pediatric refractometer, which has the capability to capture readings from both eyes simultaneously in a dimly lit room, providing comfortable conditions for the patient.
The primary advantages of the portable ophthalmological refractometer include its lightweight design and the ability to be used 'on the go,' making it highly mobile.
The set of trial optical lenses and average prism C-266 PLM is designed for the selection of corrective eyeglasses using a subjective trial method, enabling a quick and accurate selection of corrective eyeglasses for young patients.
The universal trial frame TF-11 is designed for the high-quality and convenient selection of optical lenses for patients with vision problems. It allows for adjustments of pupillary distance, cylinder axis, nose bridge height, angle, and temple length in relation to the frame. It can accommodate up to 5 lenses on each eye simultaneously. The values for pupillary distance and axes are graduated with contrasting scales.
«We will now be able to fit glasses for children with precision, confidence, and accuracy," says Olga Mykhailivna PRUTS, the head of the pediatric ophthalmology department.
We sincerely thank the Kyiv Automotive Center, the Ducati Motorcycle Club, as well as the charitable community in Italy, the social cooperative REM, Director Mattia De Bei, and the Kyodja Diocese for their assistance and support of the National Children's Specialized Hospital "OHMATDYT".
Glory to Ukraine!
